Gardening Club members get their fingers dirty
This spring our newest plotholders got the lowdown on the best ways to grow from seed. Two weekend sessions were run by plotholder Christina Fox, an experienced grower who works for a horticultural charity.
Christina advised on different soils and composts, leggy seedlings, demonstrated the best way to water - with the watering can rose pointing up not down - and explained the general rule that the bigger the seed, the deeper it should be planted.
Attendees got their hands dirty having a go at sowing some seeds.
Gardening plot member Agostina said: "Christina was great explaining everything to us and we got a lot of new knowledge."
